A family-run business of service and trust for our valued customers.
Wright’s Jewelry, founded in 1937 by Loy Wright, was limited to one showcase and a watchmaker’s bench located in a rented corner of a Fallston, NC hardware store. After moving to a rented building across the street, and before Loy’s death from muscular dystrophy in 1944, his brother Harvey Wright joined the store. Harvey operated it until his death in 1962, of muscular dystrophy also. The younger half-brother, Cecil Wright started working there full time after his high school graduation in 1945. In the mid 1960’s, Cecil and his wife Ethelee bought the store from Harvey’s widow. Later they moved the business to its third location one block north on highway 18. Their son-in-law, Jimmy Lee, who joined the store after graduating UNC in 1972, became a partner in 1992. In 1985, when Cecil constructed a new building at 4911 Fallston Road, the store occupied its current and fourth location in Fallston. After Cecil lost his fifteen-year battle with cancer in January 2000, Ethelee and Jimmy operated the store until January 2013 when Jimmy, wife Suzanne and goldsmith Matt Gordon formed a new partnership to ensure the continuation of the customer driven family business. In 2020 Wright’s Jewelry welcomed a new partner, Jennifer Beatty, Jimmy’s and Suzanne’s younger daughter, who becomes the store’s 3rd generation jeweler.
